Bradford Royal Infirmary

BRIEF

To design, manufacture and install a refrigerated body storage unit for Bradford Royal Infirmary Mortuary. The client also required a Hydraulic Stacking Trolley to support the movement of the cadaver around the mortuary.

THE PROJECT

To begin the process the team at LEEC produced an inspection report to identify the improvements required for the setting. A 6-bay and 7-bay refrigerated body store with remote cooling system was specifically designed and manufactured for the project. The end bay featured an internal partition with a remote cooling system for variable temperatures, both chiller and freezer. An internal modular system which consisted of stainless-steel racking to support body trays was installed to provide easy accessibility for the user. The pressed flat body trays provided, featured a crevice-free, pressed design and raised perimeter edge to allow for the free flow of fluids. A Hydraulic Stacking Trolley was also specified to create a fully compatible, flexible system to move trays/cadavers around the mortuary with ease of use.

LEEC Limited design, supply and install refrigerated body storage equipment across the UK and overseas. We offer a wealth of experience in body storage systems for use within both Mortuary and Funeral Director Facilities.

TESTIMONIAL

Julie Wilson, Mortuary Manager at Bradford Royal Infirmary commented ‘The trust are extremely happy with what LEEC have provided and the project was completed in a professional and timely manner. The installation team who attended were all extremely courteous, friendly and professional and worked with us regarding daily workings, admissions and releases to the mortuary.

Overall, the team are extremely satisfied with the storage units as it has given us much needed additional needed capacity within the mortuary. We also had the ability to change some of the units from fridge to freezer which has helped us massively. There’s been many positive comments and feedback from the funeral companies and staff within the trust since the project was completed’
